COLL DE NARGÓ, LAND OF THE DINOSAURS!
The dinosaur site at Coll de Nargó (L'Alt Urgell - Spain) is one of the three most important and promising sites of its kind in the world. The area includes
footmarks, fossilised vegetal and animal remains, and dinosaur eggs and nests.
The importance of the site has motivated the creation of the Mirador del Cretaci (Cretaceous Observation
Centre), which offers a trip along gangways from which it is possible to see the remains of mangrove swamps, palm
trees and large footmarks, as well as a great variety of dinosaur eggs.
In the Límit K-T Exhibition Hall it is possible to see fossil remains of the last of the large
dinosaurs to walk the Earth, find out what the world was like at the end of the Cretaceous period and discover what
caused the great ecological crisis that brought an end to the reign of the dinosaurs.
What is more, the pedagogic group ADAU has developed ways in which to exploit the educational possibilities
offered by the site and organised a series of educational activities associated with it. These activities make
students the main protagonists of a series of educational adventures aimed at working with some of the main
concepts, procedures and approaches that form part of primary, secondary and sixth form curricula.
Without a doubt, Coll de Nargó is the Land of the Dinosaurs. Come and visit us! |
