This popular sport originated in Scandinavia as a way of training for Nordic skiing outside the snow season. It is a very healthy activity and a sport that is very much associated with enjoying the natural environment while keeping healthy and getting some good physical exercise

It is the type of sport that everyone can enjoy: young and old people and even sportsmen and sportswomen outside their competition seasons. It is a form of active relaxation, provides a specific training cycle that benefits the cardiovascular system and also offers benefits for those who are recovering from injuries. The sport consists of walking at quite a rapid pace, yet without running, while resting your arms on two sticks. It can take place at a variety of different rhythms and so can therefore also be enjoyed by people suffering from chronic illnesses that affect their bones and joints and by older people.

The human body is designed to be active and the best way to keep it in condition is by walking, which is an easy activity that does not call for any great physical effort. Walking offers great benefits for the heart, helps to tone muscles, strengthens bones and also increases our stamina. When we do Nordic walking, we are exercising our arms, shoulders, chest, back, and legs. We increase our aerobic capacity and, of course, also burn off calories. This is therefore a very healthy sport and one that everyone can enjoy! |
