The national game reserves are geographically delimited territories with unique characteristics. They have been created in order to promote, encourage, conserve and protect autochthonous species of fauna. They are located
in mountainous areas of great ecological importance and landscape quality that contain highly characteristic fauna of the greatest interest.
Those wishing to hunt in the national game reserves must possess a personalised, non-transferable hunting license. |
| ALT PALLARS-ARAN GAME RESERVE |

With an area of 106,661 ha., this is the biggest national game reserve in Catalonia and also one of the largest in Spain.
It extends over four rural districts: El Pallars Sobirà (Spain), La Val d'Aran (Spain), L'Alta Ribagorça (Spain) and
L'Alt Urgell (Spain). The area contains ten municipalities, nine of whose territories lie entirely within the area of the game reserve.
The highest point in the reserve is also the highest peak in Catalonia: the Pica d'Estats. This reserve also contains many other peaks of over 2,700 metres.

| CERDANYA -ALT URGELL GAME RESERVE |

The Cerdanya-Alt Urgell (Spain) game reserve , extends over an area of 19,003 ha located in the central Catalan Pyrenees (Spain).

| CADÍ GAME RESERVE |

The Cadí national game reserve is located in the central Catalan Pre-Pyrenees (Spain)
and has a total extension of 46,591 ha. A large part of this territory falls within the limits of
the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. The rest of the territory has been declared an area of natural interest. The whole of the reserve has been included within a special protection zone for bird species (ZEPA).

| BOUMORT GAME RESERVE |

The reserve extends over an area 13,097 ha. It is located in the western Catalan Pre-Pyrenees (Spain)
between the valleys of the rivers Noguera Pallaresa and the Segre. The highest points in the reserve are the summits of Boumort (2,077 m), Pi Sec (1,917 m) and Cap de Carreu (1,848 m).
