THE MARE DE DÉU DE LA FABREGADA SANCTUARY |
To the west of Sant Esteve, and upstream along Sant Esteve de la Sarga ravine lies the Mare de Déu de la Fabregada sanctuary,
which depends on the parish church of Sant Esteve.
This is a 12th century Romanesque building with a barrel-vaulted nave and a semi-circular apse. The bell-cote is on the western wall. The location of Ipsa Fabricata is
documented in 1038 within the jurisdiction of Mur Castle. That year, Count Ramon and Countess Ermessenda de Pallars Jussà gave it in freehold to Bertrán Ató. |
