The Església de Santa Maria del Castell, which can be found in the centre of Cubells, is a late Romanesque building with a single nave and a magnificent 13th century portal porch in the style of the Escola Lleidatana. Inside the building, there is a 14th century alabaster image of the Verge del Castell (Virgin of the Caste), which is also known as the Verge de la Llet (Virgin of Milk).
