The parish church of Sant Pere de Talteüll, which was consecrated in 1077, stands in the Plaça de l’Església de Talteüll, in the municipality of Massoteres.
In the wall that gives onto the square there is the entry and two semi-circular apses with Lombard arches. The door has the form of a semi-circular arch and has a dust cover moulding.
Inside the church, there are three naves with barrel vaults. There is a vestry in the nave on the right. Above the vestry there is a double belfry. In the lower part of the bell tower there are several blind doors. It is thought that this is the oldest part of the building and that it is where the original entrance to the church was located.
The building was renovated in the 14th century and, more recently, the plaster that covered parts of the interior has been removed to reveal the original stone walls.
The whole building is important due to its location and the relevance of its architecture and it is particularly noteworthy on account of its artistic and environmental value. |
