Construction of this building began towards the end of the 12th century and in the 13th century the monumental portal was erected, although the bell-tower was not finished until well into the 14th century. From an artistic point of view, the most important feature is the main monumental portal which was made by the Escola Lleidatana. The temple was formally declared a Work of National Cultural Interest in 1931.
