The church is built upon a large rock and was constructed between the 11th and 12th centuries. The floor plan is in the form of a Latin cross and there is a square bell-tower, which was added towards the end of the 14th century and beginning of the 15th century. Inside the church, visitors can admire a Gaudi-style alabaster altarpiece of the Mare de Déu de l’Assumpció (Virgin of the Assumption) created in 1940 by Josep M. Jujol.
