Description:
This route crosses the whole Iberian Peninsula
from east to west, from Empúries to Finisterre.
It runs along the southern side of the Pyrenees (Spain)
and through the Cantabrian highlands.
The part
of the route that passes through Catalonia begins
at Empúries (Girona) and ends at Pont de
Montanyana, where it enters Aragon. The route
crosses L'Empordà, La Garrotxa, El Ripollès, El
Berguedà and then runs through the Lleida (Spain) comarques (rural districts) of
El Solsonès, L’Alt
Urgell, La Noguera and El Pallars Jussà, via
Sant Llorenç de Morunys, Oliana, the Comiols
mountain pass, the Camarasa reservoir, Àger,
the Canelles reservoir, the Congost (gorge)
de Montrebei and Pont de Montanyana.
